Description |
Pins are commonly used as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. They are precision ground (unless noted) for more accurate alignment, and slightly oversized for a tight fit. To aid ion, ends are beveled or rounded (unless noted). For a tight fit, your hole should be equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter shown. Breaking strength and Rockwell hardness are not rated (unless noted). Materials that have a breaking strength are measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.
Type 416 Stainless Steel - Stronger than both Type 316 and 18-8 stainless steel, and magnetic. All are passivated to guard against oxidation. Diameter tolerance is +0.0001" to +0.0003". Meet Mil. Spec. 16555 wherever a dash number is shown. |
