| Description |
Pins are commonly used as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. They are precision ground (unless noted) for more accurate alignment, and slightly oversized for a tight fit. To aid ion, ends are beveled or rounded (unless noted). For a tight fit, your hole should be equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter shown. Breaking strength and Rockwell hardness are not rated (unless noted). Materials that have a breaking strength are measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.
18-8 Stainless Steel - More corrosion resistant than Type 416 stainless steel. May be magnetic. Diameter tolerance is +0.0002" (unless noted). The 1/64" has a diameter tolerance of -0.0001" to +0.0005", cut ends, and is machined. |
